What are space shortcuts?
Space shortcuts are links that let users quickly access relevant Confluence pages and web pages. Shortcuts belong to one particular Confluence space, meaning they can be different across spaces.
A Confluence admin can decide which shortcuts to add to a particular space.
What can space shortcuts link to?
- Confluence pages (including personal spaces)
- Other Confluence spaces
- Webpages
- Jira projects
Why use space shortcuts?
Space content trees can become complicated and messy, making it difficult to find what you need.
If there’s a piece of content or page that you frequently need to navigate to, space shortcuts enable you to get there without the hassle of sorting through the various branches of your content tree.
You can also link to other Confluence spaces, making it a lot quicker to switch between them. Plus, linking to web pages means you won’t have to search through browser bookmarks to find them.

How to add Confluence space shortcuts
1. Go to the space where you’d like to add a shortcut.
2. In the left-hand menu, click the + (add shortcut) button next to Shortcuts

3. Search for the page you’d like to add a shortcut for, or paste in a link to the page.
4. If you searched for the page, simply click on the page to insert it. If you pasted in a link, click Insert to finish creating the shortcut.
How to edit Confluence space shortcuts
You might want to change the display text for one of your shortcuts to make it easier for you to understand what it’s linking to or to differentiate it from similarly named shortcuts.
To do this, you can edit your space shortcuts.
1. Navigate to the shortcut you want to edit.
2. Hover over the shortcut you want to change and click the More actions button (it looks like three dots).

3. Select Edit. You can also delete shortcuts by clicking Remove, if needed.
